Staff extremely friendly, beautiful setting and nice atmosphere with log fires in reception and diningroom .It has a country house feel rather than hotel , very relaxing .
It could be a plus for some - lack of phone signal but don't think they can do much about it!
We have visited the hotel around 6 times over the last 4 years. We find it is a wonderful retreat. We spend our time walking our dog in the grounds or going to beaches within approx. 12 miles and of course eating in their lovely restaurant!
Very pleasant staff and a beautiful old house in lovely location.
After 20 days in England the best hotel.....
Lovely location, lovely houes
I was very impressed with the location of the hotel and the friendliness of the staff. It also offered extremely good value for money and provided just the right level of facilities that we required for our stay.
The rural setting and character of the house. We took our dog with us and had a lovely mini break.
Liked the house having a history and loved the fires lit before breakfast.
We came down for a family christening so unfortunately did not try the restaurant, but the menu looked good!
Fantastic setting, with an interesting history. Staff were very good in all departments, We had dinner in the restaurant and it was way above average in terms of selection, presentation and cooking. We had to miss breakfast, but would imagine it was of a high standard. It is an ideal location, if you have to travel with pets, the walks from the house are wonderful. Overall an excellent experience would definitly stay again.
Had Character, Large Room, Comfy Bed, Good Service
Ready for a lick of paint, however nice & claen
Fantastic building and grounds. Some exceptional public areas. Staff efficient. Beautiful setting. Lots of potential.
Expensive breakfast. Room a bit shabby.
Our room was lovely. The staff were very friendly and helpful. We greatly enjoyed walking around the extensive and attractive estate, especially along the river and by the estuary, where the bird life was wonderful.
Lovely building in great location.
The general decor was tired and in need of tlc. The room was cramped and not particularly clean. Promised a lot but proved very disappointing.
